MPTF president-CEO David Tillman resigns

Board member Bob Beitcher to replace him on interim basis

The board of directors at the Motion Picture and Television Fund said Tuesday that David Tillman has resigned as president and CEO.

Bob Beitcher, a board member since 2007 and former president and CEO of Panavision and Technicolor Creative Services, has been named CEO on an interim basis.

The nonprofit MPTF has been at the center of controversy since last year, when it announced plans to close a hospital and long-term care facility at its Woodland Hills retirement campus. Subsequent efforts to negotiate a resolution with attorneys representing some of those affected by the plan failed.

The board plans to pursue the search for Tillman's permanent successor.
