MTV host Matt Pinfield was hospitalized Wednesday in Los Angeles after getting hit by a car that resulted in major injuries. TMZ was the first to report the news.

Pinfield was reportedly crossing the street when the incident happened. At the hospital, he was treated for a broken leg and lacerations to his head, which required stitches.

His friend Mike Jakubow shared a lighthearted photo of the host post-surgery, and while Pinfield's injuries are quite noticeable, Jakubow reassured that "he's gonna be ok."

Pinfield himself reposted the TMZ article on Instagram, writing, "Thank you to you and all my friends for all your support through this difficult time. The good news is I'm so grateful to be alive and I know it will be a long psychical recovery that I will meet every day with a smile."
