MTV is taking full-length movies to the mobile screen.

The network said Monday that "Super Sweet 16: The Movie" — an extension of the MTV series "My Super Sweet 16" — will premiere on mobile television service Verizon V Cast TV, marking the first time an MTV feature-length film has debuted on the wireless service before running on air.

The mobile premiere will come after the movie's debut on Comcast's Movies on Demand service, beginning today through July 7, and before its DVD availability.

While the movie will air on the cable network July 8 and be available for purchase on DVD on July 10, MTV on Demand will offer additional content based on the "Sweet 16" franchise, including five originally produced "Best of My Super Sweet 16" segments, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, the movie's trailer as well as fan-favorite episodes from the reality series.

"Never has a full-length feature film premiered on mobile, on-demand and on air in such a tightly orchestrated fashion," said Greg Clayman, senior vp mobile media at MTVN. "It's the perfect scenario to launch this movie for our multitasking, multiplatform audience."

The movie follows Saturday's launch of, an online destination based on the show.

Inspired by the series, "Super Sweet 16: The Movie" chronicles the story of two best friends trying to outdo each other as they both plan their long-awaited sweet 16 party.

Verizon V Cast TV is a service of MediaFlo USA.
