MTV VMAs: 'Jersey Shore' Cast Takes Private Jet to Escape Hurricane (Video)

"MTV did whatever they could to get us out here," Vinny Guadagnino says. "We wouldn't miss it for the world."

MTV apparently didn't want to take any chances that the Jersey Shore cast would miss Sunday's Video Music Awards.

The network chartered a private jet for four of the reality show castmembers -- Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi," Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Nicole Cortese and Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola -- from New Jersey to Los Angeles.

Fellow castmember Paul "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio was in Oklahoma City but got a taste of the storm's power while in North Carolina on tour with Britney Spears.

"I was nervous. This storm's no joke," he said. "Immediately I texted Vinny, because I didn't think we were going to make it. ... I thought I was going to have to fill in for everybody. I can't talk for everybody. I talk a lot. But it was no joke, and I was not missing the VMAs for nothing. Seriously, I was coming here. I didn't care how I was coming here, but I was going to make it."
