MTV's 'Tequila' double shot

Another dating competition series is coming to television, but this one has a new twist: MTV's "A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila" will feature the bisexual MySpace phenom choosing from among both male and female suitors.

MTV has greenlighted 10 episodes of the reality series, which is set to premiere at 10 p.m. Oct. 9.

Tequila, who is said to be the most popular girl in the history of MySpace, will be choosing from among 16 straight guys and 16 lesbians, who will move into her mansion. Every episode will end with an elimination ceremony.

"Tila Tequila made a name for herself by doing things her way, captivating legions of fans online, both men and women," said Tony DiSanto, executive vp series development and programming at MTV. "Now she is taking that attitude and sex appeal to her own TV series where she is looking for a mate -- by again captivating a group of both men and women. The show is a roller-coaster ride of drama, conflict and emotion, busting stereotypes and challenging the norm."

The series is produced by 495 Prods. and MTV. Sally Ann Salsano will serve as executive producer, with Joel Zimmer co-executive producing. MTV executives overseeing production are Drew Tappon, David Gross and Heather Olander.
