Mumbai gets FICCI-FRAMES confab
EmptyNEW DELHI -- The annual entertainment industry conference FICCI-FRAMES will be held March 26-28 in Mumbai.
Now in its seventh year, the conference -- organized by New Delhi-based industry body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry -- will this year see Italy as the "partner country with an effort to recognize that country in terms of cinema, film and media," said FICCI director Amita Sarkar in a statement Tuesday.
While names of expected foreign delegates and speakers are still being finalized, Sarkar said, "We expect a big Italian delegation representing their media, film and entertainment industry."
Organizers confirmed participation by international institutions such as the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA), Reed MIDEM (organizers of MIPTV and MIPCOM), X Media Lab, the International Licensing Industries Merchandisers' Assn. (LIMA), and the Mobile Entertainment Forum.
As in previous years, FICCI-FRAMES is expected to attract more than 1,000 Indian and about 500 foreign visitors from more than 15 countries.
The three-day conference will host about 30 sessions on various aspects of the business such as film financing, digital cinema, mobile entertainment, intellectual property protection, animation and vfx, among other issues.
The confab will also include the Best Animated FRAMES Awards honoring the best in animation. First launched in 2004, this year's BAF Awards have already received about 300 entries from India and overseas.
