Muse hitting big screen in U.K.

LONDON -- U.K. alternative act Muse's performances at London's Wembley Stadium in June will be screened in cinemas across Britain next week.

The "HAARP: Live From Wembley" CD/DVD package of the band's concerts from June 16 and 17 will be released March 17. Before then, Vue Entertainment will broadcast one of the complete concerts in High Definition and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound at selected Vue Cinemas on March 11.

Muse played to about 135,000 fans over the two stadium dates. Last week the concerts helped earn the band a Best Live Band award at the NME Awards, voted for by readers of the U.K. weekly music magazine.

"We were really excited when Warner Music first approached us about showing the gig on our sites because Muse are such an explosive, theatrical band that they suit the big screen, surround sound cinema experience," said Vue head of sales James Dobbin in a statement. "That, combined with the Wembley backdrop should make it an incredible night out."

Tickets are 10 pounds ($19.95); fans can purchase them online at or directly from Vue's 21 participating cinemas.
