'Museum' scores for FX

Becomes nets most-viewed acquired movie

FX got a nice ratings surprise Wednesday.

A day after the network closed a deal to acquire "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" for a fee that would reach $24 million, the Sunday night ratings were released.

They showed that FX's Sunday telecast of the first "Night at the Museum" film broke the network's record for most-viewed acquired movie, with 3.7 million tuning in.

In the adults 18-49 demo, the movie attracted 2.1 million viewers, the largest such audience in over six years.

In the time period, FX ranked No. 2 among all networks -- broadcast and cable -- trailing only the Orlando-Cleveland NBA playoff game on TNT.
