311 are arguably the most successful band ever to emerge from Omaha, Nebraska.
The multi-platinum rockers’ latest release, Stereolithic, the first on their newly established indie 311 Records, debuted this morning at No. 6 on the Billboard Top 200. The album, distributed by INgrooves, follows 2011’s Universal Pulse, which bowed at No. 7. 311 marked the 3/11 release with a mammoth 5-hour, 66-song concert at the New Orleans Arena in front of more than 10,000 fans. The group’s national tour starts May 2 in Memphis at the Beale Street Music Fest, and includes radio shows for DC101 in Washington, DC (May 3) and KJEE in Santa Barbara (May 15). 311’s self-titled 1995 debut went triple platinum, while the catalog has sold more than 10 million worldwide.

The band also announced a worldwide publishing administration agreement with Downtown Music, whose 80,000-strong catalog includes compositions by The Beatles, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, The Kinks, Hans Zimmer, Motley Crue, Seal, Elle Goulding and Neon Trees.
“We are very excited to be working with 311 in their first-ever worldwide publishing deal,” said Downtown Music founder/president Justin Kalifowitz. “They are one of the most formative alternative rock bands of the ’90s and their continued influence across multiple genres remains evident today.”
