Getty ImagesIn spite of superstardom on the most massive scale, the two ladies of ABBA, Frida Lyngstad and Agnetha Faltskog, have each seen their own solo success — the former with the undeniable 1982 Phil Collins-produced hit, “I Know There’s Something Going On” (it reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100) and the latter with the 1983 album, Wrap Your Arms Around Me, a smash in Europe.
But since their two decades of decadence, success has eluded the Swedish singers, and in Faltskog’s case, prompted a 16-year recording break.

Now, following a 2004 covers collection, come reports out of Europe that Faltskog is in the studio working on new music with Jorgen Elofsson, who has written for the likes of Britney Spears (“Crazy”), Kelly Clarkson (“Stronger”) and Jennifer Lopez. No word yet on when an album might be released.
As for ABBA fans hoping for a reunion? Don’t hold your breath, founder Bjorn Ulvaeus recently told the Associated Press. “We are the only group of that status that has never been reunited — I think that is cool,” he said. “It is a strength for ABBA that you remember those young, ambitious, energetic people during the 70s rather than some feeble old folks who feel compelled to get up and play all the time.”

For those looking to get a more immediate fix of the 70s pop supergroup, an “ABBA Museum” is set to open in Stockholm in the spring.
