Following her unforgettable appearance on the red carpet and at the ceremony, Angelina Jolie’s right leg went viral during the Academy Awards earlier this year. Her shapely appendage even got its own Twitter site. And then there were all those iconic images floating around the web where people (with too much time on their hands) photoshopped the actress’s leg into art masterpieces, historical photos, even the moon landing.
But who’s having the last laugh now? Rihanna successfully wore an equally high slit Armani gown to the 2012 Grammys. And slit gowns revealing expanses of right (and left) legs were on full view at the Academy of Country Music Awards last night.
Sarah Evans, Carrie Underwood, and Caroline Bryan, the wife of singer Luke Bryan, all wore slit dresses, creating speculation whether Jolie sparked this ACM trend or if the other famous females were hoping to earn Twitter accounts for their appendages. We’d say that’s rather doubtful.
Evan’s pink satin one-shouldered gown featured a thigh-high slit in her very full skirt, much like Jolie’s full-skirted gown. Bryan’s choice was a one-shouldered tangerine gown that appeared to be a short stretchy dress with a flowing jersey long slit skirt draped over it.

And one of our favorite country fashion icons, Underwood, wore a white silk embellished slit gown by Abed Mahfouz with Oscar de la Renta shoes, complemented by Johnathon Amdt jewelry and a Swarovski bag.
So tell us: Who do you think rocked the slit better? Angelina Jolie or Carrie Underwood?
