Did Adele Just Preview a New Song During ‘The X Factor’ U.K.?

Fans watching The X Factor U.K. on Sunday night were likely shocked at what they heard during a commercial break what appears to be a preview of a long-awaited new Adele song.

In the nearly 30-second song preview, the British singer gives a soulful delivery over simple piano chords. The only image seen on the black screen are the lyrics of the beautifully somber tune. Many viewers recorded the clip and uploaded it on social media.

“Hello, it’s me,” Adele sings in the preview. “I was wondering / if after all these years / you’d like to meet me / To go over everything / They say that time’s supposed to heal ya / But I ain’t done much healing.”
