Anna Kendrick and some of her Pitch Perfect 2 castmates were on hand to accept the American Music Award trophy for top soundtrack on Sunday.
“Holy crap — this is great,” said Kendrick as she walked up to the microphone. “Thank you so much. We were sent here to represent the film and the soundtrack, but obviously, we hardly did anything at all. We just showed up.”
The actress said she wanted to acknowledge the “unsung heroes of the soundtrack” and then read off a list of names while weaving in her trademark humor. “You’re a ruthless little group of sociopaths,” she said, “and I admire that about you.”
“Donna Langley: Your accent is too pretty to be real. You’re not fooling anybody, you can cut it out,” she said to the Universal Pictures chairman. Kendrick also referenced a threesome, threw out compliments and insults, said she was owed $37 and even mentioned a hooker she buried.
Watch her joke-filled speech below.
