Two years after exiting the American Idol stage, singer-songwriter Didi Benami is releasing her first official single.
The 25-year-old co-wrote the song, titled “Gasoline,” with Justin Gray and Chris Seefried, who also produced the track. It is the first single this year from the former tenth place finalist, who has stayed very involved with Idol since her stint with the show in 2010.

“Gasoline” is one of the songs that will be included in an upcoming EP of original songs co-written by Didi, which is schedule for release later this year. The single tackles the topics of love, relationships and knowing when it’s time to let go.
“You never know what is going to happen tomorrow, so you might as well do what you love today. Tomorrow is not a promise,” Benami says of her choice to pursue a career in music via Idol.
