Usually, it’s American Idol season eight winner Kris Allen who’s the one signing autographs but it seems the tables have turned.
Fortunately, Allen, who was involved in a head-on collision with his pregnant wife, Katy, and dog Zorro in the car, is mending his broken wrist and not a worse injury. But that won’t stop him from touring. In fact, soon after having his arm covered in a cast, Allen cleverly decided to decorate it with dates from his forthcoming “Out Alive” tour, which kicks off this Tuesday in Killington, Vermont.
Since Allen will not be able to play guitar on the tour, the 27-year old singer said he will bring out musician Andrew St. Marie on the road to assist in the six-string department.

In addition, Allen is taking a page out of fellow Idol Kelly Clarkson‘s playbook, announcing that he will be taking fan requests in each city for covers of popular songs.
“We are going to do something special for the #outalivetour,” tweeted the Arkansas native. “The deal is whoever is coming to the show that night and wants to hear a certain song (mine or a cover) tweet the name of that song that day. I will choose one each day and me and the band will learn that song that day. Don’t worry we will remind you each tour date of the request song. So have your song ready.”
Allen also announced that he will be bringing representatives from the charity World Vision USA on the tour, so fans will have an opportunity at each stop to “sponsor a child.”
In other news, the very excited father-to-be announced that he and his wife heard the baby’s heartbeat for the first time on Monday.
What songs do you want to hear Allen cover on the tour, Worshippers? Let us know in the comments…
