The wait is over for fans of American Idol Season 9 finalist Michael Lynche. The singer known as “Big Mike” released his debut single “Who’s Gonna Love You More” on iTunes this week, with the slow-jam scheduled to hit Urban Adult Contemporary radio next Monday.
Lynche is signed to St. Petersburg-based label Big3 Records, headed by Chairman/CEO Bill Edwards. He has been working on his debut album in Florida, Los Angeles and New York City. Future plans include a summer radio tour and a video for “Who’s Gonna Love You More?”

The Florida native co-wrote the sultry love song with Jason Pennock (Babyface, Far East Movement, Natasha Bedingfield) and Jamie Jones (Michelle Williams, The Pussycat Dolls) who also produced the track.

Lynche endeared himself to the Idol audience early on in the Season 9 Hollywood rounds with his muscular voice and emotive interpretations of John Mayer’s “Waiting on the World to Change” and Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours.” It was during this time that Lynche discovered — on camera — that his wife gave birth to their first child. He subsequently became a frontrunner after his cover of the Kate Bush tearjerker “This Woman’s Work” showcased his vulnerable side. He finished the season in fourth place.
Lynche welcomed a second child earlier this year. He currently resides in New York City with his wife and family, and can also be seen on Fox 5’s Good Day New York as an Idol correspondent.
