The American Idol judges battle elevated to defcon one Thursday morning after Mariah Carey hurled a big accusation against panelist Nicki Minaj on The View.

“She said there were staff members that heard it, producers, hairdressers, other people,” Walters said.
Carey told Walters, that she “doesn’t feel comfortable emotionally,” but will continue with the show and has hired extra security. She has no plans to exit the show, because she loves mentoring the contestants, Walters added.
Almost immediately, Minaj took to Twitter in an attempt to clear her name. Minaj tweeted continuously following the program with her own thoughts, and retweeted supportive comments from fans in the process.

Minaj’s ire was directed at Walters, whom the rapper said didn’t bother to reach out for her side of the story. Minaj also claimed that the comment never happened, adding that she doesn’t run to the phone to call “tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet.”
