APA has promoted agent Jaime Kelsall to vice president in the concerts division, The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard have exclusively learned.
In her 13 years at the agency, Kelsall has helped to discover and develop emerging artists including Allen Stone, ZZ Ward and Eric Hutchinson. Her other clients include Tonic, Blind Melon, Rickie Lee Jones, Kinky, Distant Cousins, Julian Moon and Jill Hennessy, who signed with APA earlier this year.
“Jaime is one of the best, most creative and intuitive agents in the business with an extraordinary talent for building and breaking new bands,” APA president and CEO Jim Gosnell said in a statement. “Her hard work and devotion has paid off big time for her roster, and this promotion reflects her unwavering loyalty to her clients and our company.”
Kelsall got her start in the music industry while still a student at Loyola University in New Orleans, interning in the House of Blues’ booking department. Upon graduation, she became Bruce Solar’s assistant at Absolute Artists in San Francisco and eventually began booking there. She became an agent with The Agency Group in 2000 before joining APA two years later. (Incidentally, Solar became APA’s executive vice president of worldwide music in June after 14 years heading The Agency Group’s Los Angeles office.)
