NEW YORK — As those who watched the Grammys know, the Beach Boys are back — or at least that’s the hope. Can the surviving members get along after all those lawsuits? Can Brian Wilson make it through the tour dates and the reunion album fans have been promised? As they say, “Wouldn’t it be nice.”
As announced Wednesday, it’s all happening — specifically, 37 U.S. tour dates, including the Beach Boys’ headlining spot at Bonnaroo and a performance at New Orleans Jazz Fest.
Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine and the rest of the gang will reunite for their 50th anniversary tour starting April 24 in Tulsa, AZ, and wrapping three long months later on July 15 in Stateline, NV. No, Foster the People and Maroon 5 will not be there, as they were on Sunday; we’re assuming John Stamos won’t be there, either (save for a few gigs he’ll inevitably attend). Full tour dates and the collaborative Grammys performance below.
As for the Wilson-produced reunion album, the only date is “sometime this year,” though they’ve reportedly hit the recording studio already. Fans can expect a handful more tour dates to be announced, with Capitol promising a 50-date tour back in December.
