Beyonce is all about the surprises — and her latest announcement is no different.
On Wednesday, the pop star took to Instagram to announce that she’s pregnant with twins.
“We would like to share our love and happiness,” she wrote on Instagram, along with a photo bearing her bump. “We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.” She signed off the message with “The Carters.”
Since posting her Instagram, which features her posing against a floral backdrop, the singer has already received more than 800K likes. Her fans are no doubt excited about the happy news, with many leaving comments like, “CONGRATULATIONS!!! STAY BLESSED! I’M SO HAPPY! THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE! WISHING YOU ALL THE BEST! LOVE YOU!!” and “So excited!!!”
Beyonce, 35, and husband Jay Z, 47, who tied the knot in April 2008, are already parents to 5-year-old Blue Ivy Carter, who was born January 2012. The singer first revealed that she was pregnant with her firstborn at the 2011 MTV VMA Awards. (Who could forget that epic performance?)
Prior to giving birth to Blue Ivy, the singer revealed that she had had a miscarriage.
“I picked out names,” she said in her HBO documentary Life Is But a Dream. “I envisioned what my child would look like.” After she lost the baby she said she wrote “the saddest song” she’s ever written in her life. “And it was the best form of therapy for me, because it was the saddest thing I’ve ever been through.”
