Designer Peter Dundas debuted the first pieces from his new namesake collection at the Grammys on Sunday night, and turned to friend and muse Beyonce to help get the word out.
Beyonce took to the stage in a sequin gold gown and halo-like headdress to perform, one of several looks the Norwegian designer created for the superstar throughout the evening. Dundas, who designed that famous Roberto Cavalli yellow, off-the-shoulder gown seen in the “Hold Up” music video, turned to Instagram to announce the Queen Bey-inspired line and tease sketches of his creations.
The singer also donned a sparkling plunging red gown by Dundas, which accentuated her growing baby bump. Earlier this month, Beyonce announced via Instagram that she and her husband, Jay Z, are expecting twins.
In October, Dundas stepped down from his role as creative director of Roberto Cavalli after 19 months. Dundas previously worked as chief designer at Cavalli from 2002 to 2005 before serving as Emilio Pucci’s creative director for six years and then returning to Cavalli in 2015.
Dundas is no stranger to recruiting a bold-facer to debut his designs; Kim Kardashian wore the first gown he made upon returning to Roberto Cavalli in 2015 to the Met Gala. Former Cavalli ambassador Ciara also enlisted Dundas to design her wedding down when she tied the knot with Russell Wilson.
Looks like Dundas will have no trouble finding famous faces to wear his new line.
