Things aren’t looking good for Beyonce.
The singer, whose upcoming album 4 is scheduled for a June 28 release, is dealing with a leak of her entire album three weeks before its street date.
On Tuesday morning “Party,” an Andre 3000 track produced by Kanye West and Consequence was leaked, but not before another song off the album, “Countdown,” featuring Boyz II Men samples surfaced on the Internet, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Beyonce’s team is attempting to have the tracks removed from offending websites or blogs that may have posted the leaked songs.
But the Times questions whether the leaks will help the positioning of Beyonce’s upcoming LP, noting that its first single “Run the World (Girls)” wasn’t received as well as “Single Ladies” or “Crazy in Love.”
Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, which was leaked days before its official release, sold 1 million copies its first week out.
The singer responded to the leaks Wednesday on her Facebook page, saying: “My music was leaked and while this is not how I wanted to present my new songs, I appreciate the positive response from my fans.”
“When I record music I always think about my fans singing every note and dancing to every beat,” she added. “I make music to make people happy and I appreciate that everyone has been so anxious to hear my new songs.”
