Getty ImagesBruce Springsteen took a break from his European tour to film an acoustic video of his classic song, “The Promised Land,” to raise awareness for fellow rock compatriot Bono’s agit8 mission.
Armed with only an acoustic guitar and a harmonica, Springsteen filmed the video next to Camden Lock in London on June 10.

Agit8 is a global music campaign featuring more than 50 artists which calls, on the eve of the G8 Summit in Northern Ireland, for world leaders to take action to end extreme poverty by 2030. U2, Green Day, Kid Rock and Daughtry all contributed their own protest songs to the campaign. All songs can be heard at one.org/Protestsongs.
In other Springsteen news, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has signed a resolution declaring Jan. 11 “Clarence Clemons Day,” in honor of the late saxophonist’s birthday.
