Cissy Houston, mother of the late Whitney Houston and grandmother of Bobbi Kristina Brown, knows a thing or two about loss.
After losing her daughter at just 48 three years ago, she now faces strikingly similar circumstances with her 22-year-old granddaughter.
The family has remained fairly quiet since Bobbi Kristina was found facedown in a bathtub in late January and rushed to an Atlanta-area hospital, where she was put in a medically induced coma that she remains in still. But now, the matriarch has spoken up and said that her granddaughter’s condition does not look very promising.
Speaking with New York radio station 107.5 WBLS-FM, Houston said, “She’s the same. We’ve moved her to a place for rehabilitation. And, you know, still not a great deal of hope. We’re praying.”
“I don’t pray like that. I give it to God one time because I know he’s able,” she continued. “And I cannot change a thing. I’m asking everybody: ‘Just pray to the Lord, who we know can do something about it.’ If he works a miracle, thank God. If it happens the other way, I’m all right.”
