Festivalgoers looking to nab that perfect selfie will have to do so without the help of a stick at this year’s Coachella and Lollapalooza festivals.
Both mega-events have listed these as “prohibited items,” as Brooklyn Vegan reports.
Lollapalooza’s FAQ section says no “GoPro attachments like sticks, selfie sticks & monopods.” Meanwhile, Coachella’s is far more blunt, saying no “Selfie sticks / Narsisstics [sic].”
As anyone who’s been to Coachella can attest, the latter ban will be tough to enforce. Still, narcissists and the rest will be forced to take photos like the cavemen did: with their arms and hands.
Other festivals like Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, Sasquatch and Treasure Island make no mention of selfie sticks — banned or otherwise — in their FAQs. Not yet, at least.
