While the likes of Haim and Grouplove made music from the middle of Indio’s Polo Fields on Friday afternoon, brand-backed parties celebrating Coachella’s first weekend raged throughout the desert. And at Palm Springs’ historic Ingleside Inn, DJ Mia Moretti hosted a pool party that looked to be something of a modern Slim Aarons photograph, complete with vintage swimsuit-wearing bathing beauties, a saturated blue sky and men (albeit ones with hipster beards and biker boots) sipping cocktails (cucumber-infused ice water).

As the likes of Mr. Brainwash, Jeremy Scott, comedian Stephen Merchant, Katy Perry (wearing vintage shorts and an Opening Ceremony top) and model Chloe Norgaard mingled and nibbled on deviled eggs that sat on trays near a bar (an act of bravery, considering nearly three-digit temperatures), good music played. And not just any good music, but a perfectly procured mix of Motown, ’90s throwbacks and Coachella headliners spun by Moretti and fellow beat makers Myles Hendrik and Wade Crescent.

Their mix featuring everyone from Earth Wind & Fire to Madonna was so smile-inducing, in fact, that we couldn’t resist Shazamming the party so we could recreate the playlist at our next pool-side fete (or, uh, driving to work on Monday), too.
