Goldenvoice, the Los Angeles-based concert promoter behind the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, is thinking big. Like, five Coachellas-per-year big.

In the “Notice of Preparation,” the Desert Sun notes, the city is undertaking an environmental study to examine what kind of impact “five concerts a year through 2030” would have on the region.
Three of the concerts would be held over consecutive, three-day weekends in the spring, with another two weekend festivals mounting in the fall. Expansion plans also call for an attendance increase to 99,000 — the current maximum attendance for any single weekend is 95,000 — and an increase in site size, to 601 acres from the current 535.
