Rapper DMX was scheduled to perform at the 1999 show, but didn’t show up for his rehearsals or the actual performance. Jay-Z played an extra long set to fill the time. The next year, the producers scheduled him to perform again. Yet again, he didn’t show up for rehearsals, so the producers un-invited him to the show. Nelly performed instead.

DMX’s comeback album Undisputed may not be coming out until the fall, but the veteran rapper will return to the stage for a summer trek that kicks off tomorrow night (June 1) in Cincinnati.
The first leg of the Undisputed: Weigh In tour will bring Dark Man X to 15 different cities across the U.S. before ending on July 10 in Pensacola, Fla. In February, the beleaguered rapper performed in Manhattan for the first time in years with a scorching set at New York’s S.O.B.’s.
Undisputed — DMX’s first album in six years — was originally slated to be released on Mar. 27, but that date came and went with no new music. In February, DMX told Billboard that his relationship with new label United Music & Media Group has been “extremely frustrating.”
DMX, who finished his latest prison stint last summer and has recently been featured on the VH1 reality show Couples Therapy, is set to release a new single, “I Don’t Dance” featuring MGK, within the next few weeks, according to a press release. Produced by JR Rotem, the song will also receive a John Colombo-directed music video.
