This year’s Electronic Daisy Carnival broke records by attracting over 320,000 dance music fans to the Las Vegas area. How much did that massive influx bring to the local economy? Some $207 million, according to independent research firm Beacon Economics.
The three-day festival, held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from June 8 through 10 with EDM titans David Guetta, Tiesto and Kaskade on the bill, is famous for its “multisensory” performances and “state-of-the-art lighting and sound design.” This year, it drew 90 percent of attendees from outside Clark County.

This boost in attendance is partly due to the addition of the first ever EDC Week, which featured pool parties and nightlife events, notes a release issued by promoter Insomniac. Also making its debut: the EDMBiz conference, which hosted three days of seminars and panels. Those two functions brought in $70.6 million on their own, over $4 million in taxes and helped generate more than 600 jobs.
Naturally, EDC Week will return for next year’s Electronic Daisy Carnival, whose dates have yet to be announced.
