From Los Angeles to Chicago, a roster of musicians will be traveling and playing shows across the country this Independence Day.
To commemorate the Fourth of July, here are ten big time music events happening in select cities.
1. Smokey Robinson – Los Angeles, CA
Robinson is headlining the July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at the Hollywood Bowl, a three-day event set to begin at 7:30 p.m. PT each night from July 2-4. The Motown legend will also be joined by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, which will perform a string of classic patriotic songs.
2. Willie Nelson – Austin, Texas
Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic will return to Austin (for the first time in five years) on Saturday and feature guest sets by Jason Isbell, Eric Church, Asleep at the Wheel, Kacey Musgraves, Leon Russell and more. Admission for the event, which will take place at the Austin360 Amphitheater, ranges from $35 (lawn seating) to $500 (VIP hospitality package).
3. Grateful Dead – Chicago, Illinois
The Dead will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a three-night run, Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead, set to take place from July 3-5 at Chicago’s Soldier Field. 4. Foo Fighters – Washington, D.C.
Despite Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl‘s recent leg injury, the band will take the stage at D.C.’s RFK Stadium on Saturday. The show will be the opening date of Foo Fighters’ North American tour and also serve as the band’s 20th anniversary celebration.
5. Chris Brown – Las Vegas, Nevada
The singer will take over Las Vegas’ Drais Rooftop Nightclub at 10:30 p.m. local time. General admission is priced at $100 per person (though female attendees can purchase tickets for just $50). Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled and Jermaine Dupri also have shows in Sin City on July 4.
6. The Rolling Stones – Indianapolis, Indiana
The Rolling Stones will rock the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Independence Day as part of their 15-city North American tour Zip Code. Rascal Flatts and Saints of Valory are set to play guest sets.
