Good Charlotte has signed with UTA worldwide in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The pop-punk band had its heyday in the early years of the millennium, with 2002’s The Young and the Hopeless selling almost 5 million copies on the strength of hit single “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.” The band has sold a total of 11 million albums, which include their 2000 self-titled debut, 2004’s platinum The Chronicles of Life and Death, 2007’s Good Morning Revival, 2010’s Cardiology and its latest, 2016’s Youth Authority.
Youth Authority was released through Kobalt Music Group and MDDN, the music media company launched by members Benji and Joel Madden. MDDN manages the band, as well as fellow UTA clients Anti-Flag, Architects, Big Jesus, Counting Days and Sleeping With Sirens, plus Hollywood Undead, Jessie J and the Good Charlotte twins’ duo act, The Madden Brothers.
“We are very excited to be in business with such an energetic, creative and innovative agency,” Benji Madden said in a statement. “Our company MDDN has already had a great time working alongside UTA on several projects, and we feel that this partnership with Good Charlotte will only bring more success for everyone involved.”
Joel Madden also has been a coach on the Australian edition of The Voice, with Benji joining him last year. The entire band will hit the road next month and tour Canada, the United States and Europe through June.
