Cyrus used a surprising term when introducing the pop icon’s performance with Nicki Minaj at the awards ceremony at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
“So let’s all show some love and give it up for our bitch, Madonna,” Cyrus said. She then added: “She made me call her that.”
Cyrus and Madonna have a longstanding friendship, with Madonna joining Cyrus for a song during her MTV Unplugged concert last year.
Madonna performed her new song “Living for Love” off her forthcoming album, Rebel Heart.
