Music icon Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga shared the stage at the Staples Center on Sunday night to perform their duet track “Cheek to Cheek” at the 57th annual Grammy Awards.
In a black, sparkly gown, Lady Gaga opened the jazzy number as the two stood together on a small, circular stage, accompanied by a band on the piano, bass, guitar and drums. The pop singer never left Bennett’s side as he began singing his own verse, and the two even broke into a short ball-dancing routine as instruments overtook the track.
Lady Gaga ended the performance with a kiss on Bennett’s cheek, as the crowd rose to its feet in honor of the legendary musician.
“Cheek to Cheek” is the title track off of Bennett and Lady Gaga’s duet album of the same name, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and took home the award for best traditional pop vocal album this year.
The award marks Lady Gaga’s sixth Grammy win, while Bennett has earned a total of 17 Grammy awards to date, including a lifetime achievement award in 2001.
The duo kicked off their Cheek to Cheek tour in Las Vegas on Dec. 31, 2014, and will bring shows to New York, London and Los Angeles in the coming months. Their Los Angeles concert will take place at the Wiltern directly following the Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 8.
