Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry performed at the Grammy Awards on Monday night with their new supergroup, Hollywood Vampires. Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl introduced the group to the stage with a brief tribute to the late Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead.
The Grammys marked the group’s television debut, which included performances of their song “As Bad as I Am” and Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades.”
During the red-carpet pre-show, Cooper explained that “Ace of Spades” was a tribute to Kilmister, who died in December after a battle with cancer. Depp told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet that the band coming together “sort of just happened” after he and Cooper starred together in the film Dark Shadows before later meeting up with Perry.
Other Grammys performers included Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Adele, Ellie Goulding, Little Big Town, The Weeknd, the Broadway cast of Hamilton and Lady Gaga, who performed a David Bowie tribute.
LL Cool J hosted the 58th annual Grammy Awards for his fifth consecutive year. The awards show live aired on CBS from Staples Center in Los Angeles.
