Another member of Taylor Swift‘s posse has a fight song of her own. Hailee Steinfeld premiered her debut single, “Love Myself,” on Thursday (Aug. 6), and she’s declaring that she doesn’t need anyone but herself as she kicks off her singing career.
The 18-year-old — who showed the world her chops as the standout newcomer in Pitch Perfect 2 — brings all the self-confidence a girl could need to the empowering anthem.
Lyrics like “I’m gonna put my body first/And love me so hard ‘til it hurts” powerfully connect with the danceable beat and “I love me” chants in the chorus, making anyone singing along feel as good as Steinfeld clearly does.
