In the emotional black and white segment, Lady Gaga sits at her dressing room mirror and talks about some of her deepest insecurities and fears.
“I still sometimes feel like a loser kid in high school,” she says. “I gotta pick myself up and I have to tell myself I’m a superstar every morning so that I can get through this day and be for my fans what they need me to be.”
She adds that she feels her reputation for showiness has led people to misjudge who she is.
“It hurts when I know how much authenticity and how much genuine blood is in my spirit, and how much I feel like people don’t know that,” she explains.
At one point, she breaks down crying as she describes the pressure to live up to her fans’ expectations: “I just wanna be queen for them, and sometimes I don’t feel like one,” she says.
