Forget the fast cars and beautiful women that frequent hip-hop videos of today, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “No Church in the Wild” clip shows burning cars, rioting youth and aggressive police.
The rapping duo has released the third official music video from their celebrated Watch the Throne, but neither superstar makes an appearance in the Romain Gavras-directed clip. Also missing from the action is crooner Frank Ocean, who lays down the haunting chorus.
Jay and ‘Ye hit the Cannes film festival just last week, where West debuted his short film Cruel Summer to a small audience including Kim Kardashian, Big Sean and Kid Cudi. The film, a seven-screen art installation, was shot on location in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
Watch the duo’s latest project below.
