The singer-actress and American Idol alum posted a video to her Instagram account that captured the response of her assistant, Walter Williams, upon receiving the present — a new home.
After reading the front page of what appears to be a deed, Williams drops the packet of papers and screams in surprise. He then enthusiastically hugs Hudson, who had run away from him to the couch after he squealed.
“My assistant Walter’s reaction when he found out I was buying him a house for Christmas!” Hudson wrote with the upload.
The video clip of Williams’ response had collected over 18,400 likes by Friday.
