In honor of Mother’s Day, Justin Bieber gave his mom a very special gift — one that can be shared by all the single mothers of the world.
The teen pop star recorded a new single, titled “Turn to You,” which was inspired by Bieber’s own mother Pattie Mallette. The track has been released for charity, with all proceeds to benefit single moms in need.
The song’s lyrics are a personal account of Mallette’s teenage pregnancy and her journey to raise Bieber on her own.
“[It’s] about the struggles, I say in the song,” Bieber told MTV of the track. “She had me at like the age I am now. [It’s about] just the struggles she went through and how brave she was, and I think the world needed to know that.”
Bieber’s new album, Believe, is due out on June 19. The album’s lead single, “Boyfriend,” currently sits at the No. 8 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
