Justin Timberlake is following in the footsteps of Friends With Benefits co-star Mila Kunis, CNN reports.
The singer-actor has accepted an invitation from U.S. Marine Kelsey de Santis extended through a YouTube video, made after Timberlake’s co-star received an invitation from a Marine in Afghanistan.
“If my schedule works out to do it, I’d love to do it. It’s an honor,” Timberlake said at a press conference touting his upcoming comedy.
“If you can’t go, all I have to say is ‘Cry Me a River,’ “ De Santis said in the video, citing one of Timberlake’s songs from solo album Justified.
Timberlake joked that he wouldn’t accept De Santis’ invitation because she “shouted out one of my songs,” but added that because he rarely “gets asked out,” he was “flattered by that.”
Kunis accepted a YouTube invitation from Sgt. Scott Moore to go to the Marine Corps. Ball in North Carolina.
“Never did I say that I was not going,” Kunis said, addressing rumors that she could not move forward with her date with Moore due to work conflicts. “I am attending. I’m going. Nov. 18, I will be there.”
“I accepted an invitation and I’m staying true to my word,” the actress fired back. “I got permission to be released from work for the day, so I’m flying in and flying out.”
Friends With Benefits, co-starring Emma Stone, is out in theaters Friday.
