When Kanye West‘s first foray into the fabulous world of Paris high fashion — his DW collection — went out with a whimper, not a bang, everyone thought he would scurry back to the safety of the recording studio.
After reading the bad reviews, he begged critics to “give [him] a chance to grow.” But then he got busy, touring with Jay-Z and visiting Occupy Wall Street. The only time he thought about a runway was probably when he performed on one at the Victoria’s Secret lingerie fashion show in New York.

But British papers have reported that the rapper/wanna-be designer is planning to relocate to London permanently to focus on his fashion career. He is reportedly setting up a studio/showroom in London to work on his Fall 2012 collection (with the help of his friends at Central Saint Martins) and then stage his second runway show in Paris this spring.

And now he’s launched a new Twitter handle (DWbyKanye) for his fashion line. But just like his personal Twitter, it only follows a couple of Twitter accounts: Kim Kardashian, Central St. Martins, A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou and Anja Rubik.
On Dec. 28, he tweeted, “London, Paris.” On Jan. 1, he hinted, “Art filled opportunity, 2012 and beyond,” and on Jan. 2, he wrote, “Art knows no boundaries.” He also posted this video of his Paris Fashion Show.
Something’s happening here. What it is ain’t exactly clear.
