Kevin Bacon’s acting talents have won him many admirers. Who could forget his performances as a dancing revolutionary (Footloose), a hideous villain (Sleepers) and …old-school Tom Petty.
The Golden Globe-winning actor appeared on The Tonight Show overnight, where he transformed into a rock star for a cover of Petty’s late ‘80s classic “Free Fallin,’” which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Bacon and Jimmy Fallon horsed around for the “First Drafts of Rock” segment where they tackle the original version of a song, this time with a strong equidae theme (true story: Petty actually wrote the song to make Jeff Lynne laugh).
Watch Bacon and Fallon perform “Free Horses” below.
