Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos is looking to shake up his philanthropic efforts, and Madonna is offering to help.
Fresh off the news on Friday that Amazon will be acquiring Whole Foods Market in a deal valued at approximately $13.7 billion, the legendary singer responded to Bezos‘ call for ideas on Twitter.
Bezos tweeted Thursday that he is looking for a philanthropy strategy “that is the opposite of how I mostly spend my time — working on the long term.”
He explains that he wants to help create change “in the here and now” and “at the intersection of urgent need and lasting impact.” The tweet concludes, “If you have ideas, just reply to this tweet with the idea (and if you think this approach is wrong, would love to hear that, too).”

On Saturday, Madonna responded to the request by calling out different Detroit-based philanthropies, and invited Bezos to join her in helping the city.

“@jeffbezos you, me, the motor city. Let’s go and I will show you incredible opportunities for almost instant impact in one of the coolest cities in America,” the singer tweeted.
Bezos has yet to respond to Madonna’s suggestion.
