Pop superstar Mariah Carey is canceling the first few shows of her All I Want for Christmas Is You Tour due to illness, the singer announced via Twitter on Wednesday (Nov. 15).
“Lambs! Just in time for the holiday gift-giving season, it seems I’ve received a present of my own; a lovely upper respiratory infection after last week’s flu. Bleak!” she posted to her Twitter account, adding she would need to cancel the “first several shows” of the tour.
Carey was supposed to kick off her tour this Friday in Windsor, Ontario, at The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor. Her website now shows her tour starting Nov. 27 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. It is scheduled to run through Dec. 22 at the Colosseum in Las Vegas.
“You know there is nothing I love more than celebrating the holidays with my festive Christmas show, but I have to take my doctor’s orders and rest until he says I can sing on stage,” said Carey in her post.
