Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Ne-Yo will perform at this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards, organizers said on Wednesday.
The event, sponsored by the KwaZulu-Natal province in association with Absolut Vodka and in partnership with the city of Durban, will take place at the Durban International Convention Centre on July 18.
Ne-Yo will perform songs from his sixth studio album, Non Fiction. Discussing his first-ever performance in the South African city, he said: “I can’t wait for you to see what I have in store, Durban! I hope you’re ready, because I am!”

The awards will air live across Africa on Viacom’s MTV Base and BET networks. The show will also air worldwide, including on BET International. A special MAMA edition of MTV’s World Stage franchise will air globally on MTV channels on Aug. 27.
