Migos rapper Offset on Saturday was released on bail from a Georgia jail after spending the night behind bars following his arrest on felony gun charges.
Offset’s wife, Cardi B, posted a photo of the two on her Instagram Story, writing, “Home.” The hip-hop power couple welcomed their newborn daughter, Kulture, on July 11.
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was pulled over Friday near Atlanta for allegedly making an improper lane change. Upon approaching his vehicle, police smelled marijuana, and after a search, found three handguns, less than an ounce of marijuana, and more than $107,000 in cash, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The 26-year-old rapper, who is a convicted felon, was arrested for alleged possession of a weapon during a crime and possession of a firearm by a felon. He also was charged with possession of marijuana and an improper lane change, both considered misdemeanors.
Offset was released from Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro, Georgia, after posting $17,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sunday.
This isn’t Offset’s first battle with legal issues. He was arrested in 2016 for driving with a suspended license in Atlanta, and spent time behind bars in 2015 after being arrested on drug and gun charges during a concert at Georgia Southern University.
