Following the cancelation of U2, the Foo Fighters and Motorhead concerts after the Paris terrorist attacks that shocked the city Friday, Papa Roach and Marilyn Manson have also called off their concerts in the French capital.
The Marilyn Manson show scheduled for the Zenith theater in the 19th district in the city’s north was canceled as announced by the theater, citing security concerns. “Zenith is establishing a safety protocol suitable for events to accommodate you in the best conditions to enjoy the show, music,” the theater said. It said though that the Simply Red concert scheduled for Tuesday would continue as planned.
Manson confirmed on Twitter that the Paris show was canceled and his tour would resume with his Brussels show on Wednesday.
California rock band Papa Roach, which had called off its show in Lille in the Northern part of France scheduled for Sunday night in the wake of the attacks, also cancled a Monday Paris show. The band had previously said it was in negotiations with city officials to determine if the concert should continue amid security concerns.
The band announced the cancelation on Instagram Monday. “Out of respect for the victims of the French three days of national mourning, we will be canceling our show in Paris, Monday 16th November,” it said. “For those affected by this, more info will be released soon. We will return and play many more French shows so until then, we stand united.”
The Papa Roach concert had been scheduled to take place at the Olympia theater in the city’s center. The band will resume its European shows in Amsterdam on Tuesday.
