Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio Music Festival has added one more to its already impressive lineup.
Paul McCartney will perform at the two-day music event set for Sept. 20-21 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. He joins previously announced performers Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Elton John, J. Cole, Muse, Tiesto, Chris Brown, Keith Urban, fun., Miguel, Bruno Mars, Phoenix, Zedd, Maroon 5, Tim McGraw, Ke$ha, Drake, 30 Seconds to Mars, Benny Benassi and Queen with Adam Lambert.
McCartney is slated to hit the stage the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21.

“After only two years, the iHeartRadio Music Festival has attracted the biggest music artist in the world,” said John Sykes, co-executive producer of the iHeartRadio Music Festival and president of Entertainment Enterprises, Clear Channel. “Having Paul join this year’s already spectacular and diverse lineup heightens the excitement for what has become the most anticipated music festival of the year.”
The announcement comes on the heels of a report from the Beatles Examiner earlier this month, which cited a “source with knowledge” in reporting that McCartney was negotiating for a slot at the sold-out festival. Last weekend, McCartney performed at San Francisco’s Outside Lands, where he entertained the crowd for nearly three hours with a slew of Beatles, Wings and solo hits.
The Ryan Seacrest-hosted festival will be broadcast live across Clear Channel radio stations in 150 markets across the U.S., and this year will also air as a two-night special on The CW on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. iHeartRadio is an Internet radio platform owned by Clear Channel, which counts more than 800 local radio stations in its broadcast network.
Last year’s iteration featured a similar assortment of boldfaced names, including Taylor Swift, Usher, Lil Wayne, Pink, No Doubt and Green Day, the latter of which made headlines when lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong suffered an onstage “meltdown” and subsequently entered rehab.
