Having brought the house down at the Oscars and gotten the A-list audience on their feet dancing to “Happy,” Pharrell Williams is now celebrating the NBA Playoffs in a new promo.
In the energetic video, Williams performs his song “Come Get It Bae” from his GIRL album while dancing with his own troupe of fans as highlight clips show the NBA’s top scorers shooting baskets on the court.
Filmed grooving through the shimmering LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) lamp posts, the upcoming new coach on The Voice couldn’t have looked more excited about the impending basketball showdown.
VIDEO: Pharrell Williams Talks Creative Inspiration, Sources of Happiness
Wearing one of his signature Vivienne Westwood mountain hats — a style that Miami Heat star LeBron James attempted to copy during a recent postgame interview — Pharrell would have fit right in seated courtside at a Lakers game.
Williams proved his own fandom at the NBA All-Star Game in February when he entertained the star-studded crowd at the New Orleans Arena performing “Frontin’.”
It was announced last month that the Grammy winner will be replacing Cee-Lo Green for season seven of NBC’s singing competition The Voice. Williams previously served as a guest mentor to Usher‘s team during season four.
The NBA Playoffs will air on TNT beginning April 20, with NBA TV offering comprehensive coverage including pre- and postgame conferences and replays.
