Russian punk group Pussy Riot has released a provocative anti-Donald Trump music video entitled Make America Great Again.
It includes scenes of partial nudity, simulated rape and torture and a medical examination, with the group’s Nadya Tolokonnikova playing roles that include a U.S. newscaster, a Russian woman abused by uniformed men, a judge, a presidential figure and a policewoman.
The video begins with a simulated newscast announcing that Trump has been elected president. Released late Thursday, it comes just days after another new video by the group, a female-empowerment song entitled Straight Outta Vagina.
Tolokonnikova’s Russian character, who is instructed to “speak American” as she is branded with hot irons saying “outsider,” “fat pig” and “pervert,” is seen in one sequence dressed in an orange prison jumpsuit being forced into a jail cell. Once inside, her guards strip off the one-piece, handcuff her to the bars and pull down her underwear bearing the slogan “Make America Great Again.” The video then cuts to the two leering men walking away saying, “We’ll see you tomorrow.”
In another scene, preceded by a newscast subtitled “Perfect bodies only,” Tolokonnikova‘s character is stripped to her underwear before her breasts, hips and behind are measured with instruments reminiscent of those used in Nazi eugenics experiments in World War II.

To the refrain of “What do you want your world to look like?” the video’s English-language lyrics and images are fast-cut with archive news footage from Trump’s election campaign, including scenes where he declares from a podium: “Knock the crap out of him, would you?” and “Punch him in the face.”
The video ends with Tolokonnikova‘s character being shot dead after breaking free of a gynecological examination, in which she is branded with the words “She made an abortion.”
The video, released on YouTube, had been viewed more than 200,000 times by early Friday. In a comment posted on YouTube below the video, Pussy Riot says: “Because YOU decide elections and if we get together, we could blow this s**t up, take action and reverse the erosion or rights. Because f**k it.”
